Bravo™ Conversion

Arneson Industries offers a alternative to the Bravo™, the ASD6 Arneson Surface Drive™ Kit. With both right and left hand rotations, combined with our stand off box, Arneson Industries offer a real solution to costly Outdrive repairs and proven reliable performance.

Developed as an Arneson replacement for the *Bravo™ with our own standoff box that allows the engine to remain in the current location. Coupled with a Velvet Drive™ transmission, the Arneson Surface Drive™ couples to the standoff box that houses the transmission, enabling the balance (CG) to stay the same as well as maintain current engine room configuration. This also saves valuable engine room space saving the rear seat area for your use and eliminating any hatch modifications.

The Arneson Standoff Box covers the existing holes that are in the boat's transom from the Bravo™ or other outdrive. Removing the need to plug holes or cutouts. Simply mount the Arneson Standoff Box, which is predrilled and O-ringed for the ASD6 Drive Unit, and your drive installation is complete. Hydraulic thru-hull fittings are included pre-mounted in the standoff box.

 

The ASD6 Kit is ideal for new installations where by you want a reliable high performance outdrive on your new boat. Installation takes just a few short hours and requires the use of a drill, and a few hand tools.

The ASD6 Conversion Kit allows the use of an Arneson Surface Drive ASD6 Drive Unit in place of a conventional I/O Unit. The ASD6 Conversion Kit maintains the engines current I/O For/Aft location, maintaining the boats current engine CG placement.

About the ASD6 Drive Kit, the ASD6 Drive Kit weighs 300 lbs included in this weight are the external hydraulic steering cylinder, trim cylinder, trim pump, mounting bolts, external hydraulic hoses, transmission, drive line, Arneson Stand Off Box, Bellhousing and Drive Plate. 

The ASD6 Kit has a full hydraulic steering system, no cables or steering valves to generate slop in the steering wheel. Your Powersteering pump supplies pressure to the hydraulic helm unit (Supplied) which is plumbed to the steering cylinder (s).

The ASD6 Kit has a 26 tooth spline propeller shaft, same as the Mercury SSM#6 drive units, removing the need for any special propellers as the standard Mercury Speed Master propeller will fit the propeller shaft. Rolla and Hering also fit the propeller shaft.

The ASD6 Kit comes with a one year warranty with a 750 lbs of torque rating along with a transmission that is suited for the application.

The ASD6 drive unit when coupled to a modified transmission unit has a lower HP loss than that of a Bravo™, which in turns puts more power to the water. 

The ASD6 has a small drop center distance, eliminating the need to mount the engine high in the boat and this in turn helps the balance of the boat. The crankshaft center line is roughly 13" upward from the bottom of the boat depending upon transom angle.

*One year Warranty on the ASD6 Drive Unit, along with a One Year Warranty on the BAM Transmission when used in approve applications.

This adapter will allow you to simply slide on a Mercury Outboard Over the Hub Exhaust Propeller onto your Arneson ASD6 or 1721 Drive Units.
